Which data do we process?
- Contact details — name, email address and phone number, as you enter them in the quote or contact form.
- Data about the property — address, type of building, year of construction, floor area, whether plans exist and any files you upload yourself.
- File data — what we establish during the site visit, including photos of materials and laboratory results.
Why do we process it?
- To answer your request for a quote and calculate a price (performance of a contract or steps preceding it).
- To put together your file and, where the legislation requires it, enter it into the OVAM asbestos inventory database (legal obligation).
- To contact you about your file and its follow-up (legitimate interest).
- To send you the newsletter, only if you ticked that box yourself (consent).
Who do we share it with?
Only with parties needed to complete your file: the accredited laboratory that analyses your samples, OVAM for issuing an asbestos certificate, and our accountant for invoicing. We do not sell your data and do not use it for third-party advertising.
How long do we keep it?
Quote requests that do not lead to an assignment are kept for a maximum of two years. Files of completed assignments are kept for ten years, in line with the validity of an asbestos certificate and with our statutory retention obligations. Invoicing data is kept for seven years.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to have processing restricted, to object and to have your data transferred. Send a message to info@bestos.be for that. We reply within one month.
Not satisfied with how we handle it? You can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels.
Security
This website runs entirely over an encrypted connection. Files you upload through the quote form are used only to assess your request and are not made publicly accessible.
