When is a single analysis enough?
Not every question calls for a full file. If you are unsure about that one corrugated sheet, about the black adhesive layer under your floor tiles or about the panel behind the radiator, a single lab analysis gives a clear answer within a few working days.
With the naked eye it is rarely possible to tell. Only material marked NT (New Technology) is guaranteed free of asbestos.
Why you should not take the sample yourself
It is precisely when the material is broken loose that fibres are released. Taking a sample calls for wetting, hand tools, an FFP3 mask and double packaging. We do that according to protocol.

The site visit usually takes half an hour. The lab result normally follows within a few working days.
You can, but it is not advisable. Without wetting, a mask and double packaging you take an unnecessary risk and the sample may be unusable.
No. For a sale or transfer in Flanders you must hold an asbestos certificate. A standalone analysis report is not enough for that.
No. Pressure washers, dry blasting and chemical products are prohibited on asbestos-containing materials: they release fibres on a large scale.
