Asbestos inventory employer
Under the Belgian code on well-being at work. Every employer has to know where asbestos sits in the buildings they manage.
What does the code require?
Book VI, title 3 of the code on well-being at work requires every employer to hold an inventory of all asbestos-containing materials in the buildings, work equipment and installations they manage. A management programme goes with it, and both are updated annually.
The inventory must be available to your prevention adviser, to the committee and to every external firm that comes to work on your premises.
Difference with the asbestos certificate
An asbestos certificate concerns the transfer of a building and is valid for ten years. This inventory concerns the safety of your employees and is valid for one year. If you need both, one site visit is enough.
